With E3 on the horizon, Microsoft has come out ahead of the show with a big announcement – Xbox Game Pass is coming to PC!
Game Pass on Xbox gives you a library of over 100 games that you can play at any time, as often as you want, for a monthly fee. Games are downloaded to your Xbox instead of being streamed so it works well on our dodgy brothers Australian internet. We expect the PC version will work the same.
No titles or dates have been announced, but we are very excited to see partners like Deep Silver, Devolver, Bethesda, Sega and Paradox are on board. There are currently 75 game partners announced in total. Between them and Microsoft’s own studios the 100 game pass games should be awesome.
With recent announcements about Microsoft’s games coming to Steam, it will also be interesting to see how the Epic vs Valve battle plays out now that Game Pass is also on the scene.
More is expected to be revealed during their E3 press conference, dated for 10 June at 6AM AEST.
We have some questions:
- Will Game Pass require a new launcher?
- Will it be integrated into Steam and/or Epic?
- How will Epic’s exclusive deals with publishers like Deep Silver impact the service?
We’ll be keeping a close eye on this one.
