Persona 4 Arena will finally be released in Europe on May 10th for Xbox 360 and PS3, nine months after it was first released in America. The game’s European publisher, Zen United, also revealed the game’s pre-order bonuses, which includes the Original Arrange Soundtrack (featuring exclusive artwork), as well as a “digital fan pack” made up of wallpapers and avatars. The publisher also promised more news in the future.
Persona 4 Arena was originally released in Japan in June last year, and was released in America last August. Both the Xbox 360 and the PS3 versions of the game were region locked — Xbox 360 region-locking isn’t unprecedented, however this was the first time that a publisher had opted to region lock a PS3 title. This meant that anyone outside this region had no way to play Persona 4 Arena, short of importing an American or Japanese console. Zen United had previously stated that the delay was due to the European build being developed; on it’s official Persona Europe website, it said, “Unfortunately, as we are not directly involved with the development of the game, we do not have any further information about its progress or when the EU build will be complete.” It received these builds in January this year.
Australian release dates have yet to be specified.
