It’s been a pretty nuts day for EA. On one hand, they just announced that SimCity (2013) is the highest selling entry in the series, hitting a 1.1million sales in about about two weeks! On the other, CEO John Riccitiello resigned today, possibly not because of SimCity , but that certainly wouldn’t help. In the midst of all this, how about some good news for the consumers that may be affected by the…performance of the game? Well, EA’s got you covered – they’ve announced a list of eight games you’ll be able to get for free if you were an early adopter of SimCity. What games? Well, read on!
If you managed to activate a copy of SimCity by March 25th, you’ll be entitled to grab one of these games for free:
- Battlefield 3 (Standard Edition)
- Bejeweled 3
- Dead Space 3 (Standard Edition)
- Mass Effect 3 (Standard Edition)
- Medal of Honor: Warfighter (Standard Edition)
- NFS Most Wanted (Standard Edition)
- Plants vs. Zombies
- SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition
While there is some humour in EA letting players pick up a copy of the last SimCity game that didn’t need an online connection nor wasn’t as…simplified, that list is kinda crazy – especially when you consider three of those games are less than six months old. Hell, Dead Space 3 will be a month old by the time you need to authenticate the new SimCity by. EA have more details about the offer as well as some FAQs on their support site, which you can check out if you need more information.
Though speaking of SimCity, if you’re still unsure just how bad it is, we happened to review it quite recently on the show. Take a gander here and see just what we thought of it.
