Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes Out In Autumn
Konami and Kojima Productions announced this morning that Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will be released in Autumn 2014. It was also revealed that Ground Zeroes will act as a prequel to Metal Gear Soild V: The Phantom Pain, clarifying a previous statement that Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain were the same game.
Ground Zeroes will be set during a rescue mission in a Cuban prison camp, and will introduce gameplay components (including day-night cycles) and plotlines which will be expanded upon in The Phantom Pain.
“The advanced capabilities of the FOX Engine have allowed me to tell the new story in a new way,” said Hideo Kojima in a press release, “There will be a significant difference in what Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain brings to the series, so we want to ease players into the new open world environment and its potential. As such, Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes has been designed to introduce key elements, allowing them to fully benefit from all that the new game will offer.”
Ground Zeroes will be released on the Xbox One and Playstation 4 digital marketplaces for £29.99. It will also be available for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 for £19.99 digitally and in retail for £29.99. Australian prices are yet to be confirmed.
