If you’re in Melbourne, there’s a couple of extremely rad events happening. The first (and by far the more obvious) is the 2012 AFL Grand Final. No idea how that’s gonna play out just yet, but if that’s not enough, there’s another crazy event going on. That being the second big fighting game tournament of the year, Battle Arena Melbourne, hosted by your friends and ours at Couch Warriors. There’s still plenty of time to get involved if you haven’t already!
If you’re after more specifics, BAM 2012 is going to be pretty crazy this year. Why? Well, in addition to featuring tournaments for all the expected hits (your Street Fighters and Smash Bros), this years BAM is also going to feature one of the first tournaments for Tekken Tag Tournament 2, as well as the first big tournament for what will then be only a few days old Dead or Alive 5. That’ll be real interesting to see the level of play a few days after public release.
But in any case, you’ve got until the 23rd of September to register as a competitor, but if you’re gonna come down to spectate, it’s all going down at the CQ Hotel (on Queen Street in the CBD) from the 29th-30th of September. If anything else, a bunch of us are going to be down there, so feel free to say hello and challenge us to a bunch of games. Most of us are somewhat decent at the fighters, so it should be fun.
